Alcohol substitute for relaxing and chilling out?!

Hi guys

I am not drinking alcohol due to my heart arrythmia and I am wondering, with the warmer weather now here, (at least for a month or so haha) what do you have instead of enjoying a glass or two of wine etc? Any ideas for a yummy alternative or herbal substitute ?

Drinking alcohol is such a pleasant way to relax the mind and enjoy oneself and it's a bit of a downer not to be able to partake when everyone else is having a jolly old time.

Any supermarket has lots of alcohol free wine look a like drinks, can't remember the brand but there's a lovely lemon and mint fizz and Waitrose have some really nice Elderflower drinks, they look like wine so you can kid yourself if needs be !

Hej Bantam12!Oh yes that's true. There are many drinks like that.

I was actually wondering about any legal substances that are (legally) available that alter the mind like alcohol does.

But now I say it, it sounds dodgy and unreal🙄

Yes that's does sound dodgy and why on earth would you want anything like that, what's fun about feeling squiffy 🤷‍♀️

Black Tower does a Rose with just 5% alcohol. Easy drinking. I have AF. Occasional glass is fine.

Hello I know what you mean I don’t really drink anyway but like you want to avoid palpitations so it’s decaf everything but I’ve been think of trying one of the new gins without the gin😂 I do love the taste of the botanicals just thought I would mention it in case you might be interested take care whatever your tipple enjoy! 😁

Ooh yes - I love Pentire 'Adrift' non-alcoholic gin, from Cornwall, you can taste the seaside! They do 'Seaward' flavour too, but that has grapefruit in it, which I'm not allowed, so haven't tried it.

There are some canny alcohol free beers on the market these days which have all the taste but none of the after effects, my particular favourite is Heineken 0%. I do like a glass of wine but could never stand to see the bottle half full - however I now have the occassional tipple by buying the single serve bottles of 187ml - just had a Mateus Rose earlier £1-99 @ B&M Stores. Unless warned off completely then in my view the odd one is acceptable.

Have you tried any legal cannabis editable ? Or drinks ? Ie , brownies etc ,🤔 I bought brownies a few years back and they really helped me when I was agitated at work . All perfectly legal .

Not nitpicking, but just to clarify, nothing containing cannabis is legal in the U.K. The only things that are legal are products containing CBD oil, which is a non-psychoactive element found in cannabis. CBD is classed as a food supplement, and is legal in the UK as long as the oil or item contains no more than 0.2% THC, which is the main element of cannabis responsible for getting high. CBD is still classed as unproven by scientific standards, however it’s known that for some people it offers some relaxation and calming properties, including reported effects on sleep, anxiety, and some musculoskeletal pain.

Yes that’s what I was trying to say , I just couldn’t get my head around what it was callthafs why I said legal , the brownies I bought had the oil in them , not weed /hash etc no it was the oil .

I don't know anything about your particular heart condition, but they say a glass of red does you more good than harm. I'll admit, I would struggle not to have a glass or two regularly. Everything is part of the 'balanced diet' . A lot of recent research shows that there are many misnomers from old research and assumptions.
