I've had Takasubo for two years, was under huge stress. Drank a protein shake and my body went into complete disfunction. Found I had Takasubo, with extreme low blood pressure. Taking blood thinners is the only help I've gotten. It has now happened many times. Every time I drink protein shakes. The symptoms come. Terrible beaches hot cold sweats, diareah, vomiting, fainting, weak internal shakes pain in chest and the I've saline goes into my chest cavity. Causing me no breath and pain. Very terrible experience last week at the hospital.

Why are you taking protein shakes? They are not needed for most people unless your diet is poor. I suggest you look at the ingredients of your usual protein shake then go on google to see if any are known for the effects you mention.

Easiest of all though is surely to stop taking these things and adjust your diet?

I'm very skinny. I did stop drinking them. The hospital gave me one and wham another episode. Part of my symptoms is a lack of appetite and nausea. I'm trying to eat more and better.

I am sorry to hear that you have a history of Takotsubo, with and initial episode 10 years ago and ongoing issues

I am a member of a Takotsubo Support Group on Facebook, facebook.com/groups/Takotsu... - you might find it help to join that and dip into some of the extensive experience of other members - there is also website set up by the group founders, Takotsubo.net takotsubo.net/ with lots of helpful info

Takotsubo is a condition which is poorly understood as knowledge and understanding of it are developing - meanwhile many people who experience the condition meet with very variable responses from cardiologists and other health professionals - the condition is not common, so many health professionals have little experience with it and cardiologists see very few cases during their careers

For this reason a specialist support group can be very helpful - members pool information and try to keep up to date with recent research to share

This may sound obvious but If protein shakes cause you these problems the initial solution is to stop using them and find an alternative

I am surprised to read that your only medication is “blood thinners” as this is not routine, long-term medication after a Takotsubo episode, unless you have some other ongoing condition which makes it necessary - if you have been told that your current dose is toxic (in you biog) maybe it’s time for a review

Thank you for your comment. I have very low blood pressure. I need to go to another town to find a cardiologist that has any idea how to treat this condition. I can't get any tests that require Anastasia. The episodes happen sometimes when I didn't drink the shakes. They gave me an organic one in the hospital and it immediately brought on symptoms. I on my own completely stopped the protein shakes 2 years ago when the Takasubo was extreme.
