.....is one of the most frustrating things about this community, when you have either read a post and/or you worse have spent time and effort contributing towards it and then suddenly it disappears into the ether, like one post from the last few days.
I can understand posts being pulled by the admin team. But when someone posts on here and then decides, for whatever reason they change their mind about what they said, or perhaps don't like the responses, they have the power to delete the entire post and responses, that doesn't fit well with me
My view is if you post something, it's out there, and so it stays, subject to community guidelines.
And if you find you don't like the community and what it offers, then the solution is very simple, and we all know what that is.

Is there a particular post that has gone missing ?
It can be frustrating I know but this does happen if the poster or admin delete the post so I have just had to accept if I reply and the poster or admin for whatever reason delete the post then to remind myself I replied unconditionally that way it helps me not to feel as frustrated if they happen to get deleted
Hope you are keeping well x
Sometimes people delete posts because on reflection it might have made them feel uncomfortable/ exposed, they may not be happy with how they worded it and feel the responses reflect that, they think it's low value or is causing tension.
I have deleted certain posts of mine in the past, when I personally feel it has hit one or any of the above criteria.
It's a personal choice, and if my mental health or wellbeing feels the better for it ,then that is what counts.
Whilst I believe that debate, advice, opinions are important and posts offer good examples when looking for topics, the people who usually post here are in a vulnerable position and therefore may feel any of the above, thus delete a post.
I think its best to have the mindset ( irrespective of the time you have put in) to think if someone has read something and it's even made a small difference to them, then that is a good thing. Even if it no longer exists.
I have seen that you certainly do put a lot of effort into thinking about and composing your replies. Frustrating when they are then deleted.
Maybe the thing to do is take screen shots or copies of any reply which you feel is longer/more complex/carefully considered so that when similar situations arise you can use and adapt your response as appropriate.
You could start a thread basically using the thinking behind an interesting reply when you feel the subject merits a wider conversation.
Hi I think I know the post you, it mentioned the virus and vaccinations. I did put my tuppence worth in and when I went to check for more replies it was gone. Char
I posted a question on covid and heart attacks, which I kept online as the answers were useful. However I did put a post up asking why some of the replies on this post were being deleted, I got my answer so deleted the post.
