Good afternoon all.

I had a letter earlier inviting me to have an echocardiogram in mid July.

I've had one before back in 2019 but It just occured to me. Can it see how well the heart pumps blood? Is this called ejection fraction? And should I ask what mine is?

The technician who does the echo may not be able to tell you the EF, but your cardiologist should send the results to your GP. Make sure you’re copied in on these letters.

Your EF should be between 55-75% and your cardiologist should give you this information along with other findings.Mine is 50% which is borderline but there will be many others with EF between 25-45%
