Finally got my echo results which I had to chase GP for test was booked last November had the test end of May this year.
Results good no problems detected LV is normal and improved since my last echo but still getting dizzy spells light-headedness and breathless on exertion so my Bisoprolol has been reduced from 5mg to 2.5mg hope this cures my symptoms and doesn't make matters worse doctor has also requested an ECG which is next Monday if that shows nothing then it might be a chest xray.

Yes feeling relieved but hoping the change of the Bisoprolol dose doesn't upset the cookie cart as the GP this morning didn't want answer any of my questions over the phone. If you want to see the doctor you have fill out sn e-consult online you can't ring up anymore which for the older generation that is not online or does not own a smartphone is very difficult.
I know it is not always easy but try and stay positive that cutting down the dose will not upset the apple cart but a tiny if it did they would no doubt just increase it again
Goodness I do not like the sounds of what you have to do to get to speak to a Doctor I think we have something similar but can still phone up and ask which I do as I could not manage that either and I have actually told my own Doctor have they ever thought of the older generation or even some especially with everything going up in price they may not even have the internet or like you say a smartphone
I had my bisoprolol reduced from 7.5mg to 5mg, after discussing it with EP. I took it upon myself to reduce it a lot more slowly than the GP , I used a tablet cutter. I’d been feeling zombied all the time and exhausted. Reducing it was definitely the right thing for me. I’ve not had any increase in any heart or arrhythmia issues since reducing it. But reading on here suggests reducing it very slowly is the way to go. Good luck and I hope it works for you.
hi Coopergirl52, sorry I’ve not replied sooner but I’ve been struggling with the humidity. I’ve been keeping up my usual levels of activity which because of the humidity have been more difficult and I’ve been getting absolutely shattered.
Anyway back to bisoprolol. On the higher dose I was what I called ‘swimmy headed’. I was also getting dizzy when going from sitting to standing. My brain was also fogged. Those feelings have much improved. How are you doing?
While there are specific heart conditions for which abrupt withdrawal of a beta blocker such as Bisoprolol is not recommended, your GP will have considered that when advising you to reduce your dose, so I wouldn't buy a pill cutter just yet! Most forum members don't report suffering withdrawal symptoms from a reduction in dose, so don't worry about the reduction and let us know how your HR responds to it. It will take a few days for the full effect to be seen.
