go to the NHS website and input “ cholesterol” into their search. This gives good information about what it is.

Naturally we here don’t know why you had the test nor anything about you so it would be difficult to comment further.

Please don't be offended Danni but, he wanted them doing because you are overweight, not because of your age. I don't know how much overweight you are or what medical problems you have but I urge you to lose some!

Your probably correct. I take bisoprolol and he also wanted to check potassium levels but I don't know what for. I have an appointment in July with cardiology so will ask them.

The overall figure of 4.7 I'm guessing is not bad. However, from what I understand of the reading the "bad" cholesterol looks like it makes up most of that number rather than the "good" cholesterol. The plan is to lower the bad cholesterol number and improve the good.

Hi danni I'm no doc of course 😂 but those scores are fine , if you are overweight I'd been more concerned about what the A1C score is

Good luck

The hba1c score was 35mmol appaparently between 20 and 41 is non diabetic range so I'm happy with that.

Hi Danni

Those results are not too bad , I’m type 1diabetic , my results where sky high but after treatment and reading Diabetic UK, I’m doing very well. It’s very hard at first but keep going, it’s worth it , look up the NHS online, plenty choices of help.

Good luck

That's a great start! Aim for five pounds per month. That's over two stone in six months at a loss rate which is sustainable. Keep it up🙂

Im losing on average 1.5lbs a week sometimes 2lbs if I've been abit more busier. I do love being active it's just my eating habits that let me down. I dont smoke anymore and dont touch alcohol but that's where things like sweets and chocolate creep in.

I have regular blood tests, and it is difficult to find out what it all means, even after a chat with GP. My surgery (and I imagine is general) have on line facility where I can view test results and print them off, with the on line results are links to explain further, very useful.

Hi Danni,

That score is borderline if your a Diabetic but still within limits if not.

Like you I am overweight properly more than you.

I would recommend you Buy Dr Saira Hameeds book The Full diet. Dr Saira is a full Qualified Dr with Phd at St Mary's Hospital London. She works in the weightloss department.
