Reversion Pauses

I have Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation and have reversion pauses, waiting for a Pacemaker. Has anyone out there suffered with the same problem and had a Pacemaker inserted and did it stop them happening and stop their heart rate going up.

Hi yes I had the same thing happen to me ..passing out when the pauses occurred ,once this was discovered I was quickly fitted with a pacemaker which has stopped this from happening. It doesn’t stop your heart rate from going up but does enable you to take meds which will help with that 😊

Hi Weeloula

Thanks for respondng, good to know the Pacemaker sorted that out, it`s a weird sensation isn`t it and quite frightening. I sometimes think the medication I`m on, Metoprolol, makes it worse and causes my heart rate to go out of rhythm but I don`t know, suppose we look for reasons for these things to happen. There`s nothing wrong with my heart except the electrics don`t work properly. Did you have any problems with the Pacemaker and how long did it take you to recover?

No real problems aches and pains tenderness at site but that’s all normal recovery is pretty quick you just have to be a bit wary and stick to the guidelines be careful about lifting your arm for about six weeks if I remember rightly.. accept a bit of help if you need it and you’ll be grand ❤️
