I had a Pacemaker inserted in June but I have recently noticed a hard lump under the skin develop, immediately above the Pacemaker incision area. It doesn’t look red or inflamed but feels tender, tight and uncomfortable . Anyone else had this after a Pacemaker insertion?

Hard lump after Pacemaker insertion.
Could it be the leads. They go up to your collar bone first?
I can feel my lead above my pm incision scar , it’s very bumpy to touch and can be tender bordering on painful at times .
My pm has moved down and I can feel wires, it’s sometimes itchy not really painful and I can get my fingers under it and lift it
Good morning Rosie 1066. Not sure if you have had your 1st check up since the pacemaker was put in position. Mention it to them if you still have to have your check up. Or give them a ring and get it check out. Brian
I asked about having my leads moved as I felt they were rubbing on my collar bone. Advised not possible because of risk of infection. Have you looked at a photo of your pm on the net?
Thank you all for your responses. Yes I have had my six week pacemaker check and all was OK then and this hard lump appears to have appeared after the check. Hopefully it’s nothing unusual but would just like it checked out. I will phone my pacemaker clinic tomorrow.
