I have been diagnosed with Conns disease benine growths on kidneys. This causes my BP to be irregular.

I had never heard of this until now. Initially I was prescribed Spironolactone, this increased my potassium levels to 5.6. Told to stop taking these.

After 1 month prescribed elperetone, this is causing side effects. Diarrhoea, chest infection.

I take doxazosin 8mg and Bisoprolol 3.34mg. The doxazosin is a diuretic

My BP is still irregular, high in am low pm, always has been for at least 10 years.

I am 80 years old, female, very active, until taking the spironolactone, and elperotone.

I ask should I continue experimenting with these drugs, which appear to cause more problems than what they are treating.

Thank you

you could call BHF 0808 802 1234 (freephone). Helpline is open weekdays 9am to 5pm*.

Or your dispensing pharmacist, or the pharmacist attached to your doctors group of surgeries - speak to the receptionist.

A good source of information is Blood Pressure UK, the specialist charity.
