Stopping clopidogrel
I’m on clopidogrel, Nstemi July 2023 and quadruple CABG though , so I’m on it for 12 months then stop. Did you have any surgery ? You could ask you GP /pharmacist why it’s being stopped or get in touch with BHF online nurses for a chat?
no problem with stopping Clopidogrel. As long as you can restart soon. I have taken Clopiwhatsit for about nine years. I am careful when shaving/gardenning/diy because even a scratch is a bloody nuisance. When I do stop, migraines flood in. But migraines stop when I return to Clopiwhatsit.
Luckily my besotted cat has never scratched me. He is big, very strong but gentle with his humans.
Marvellous for relaxing.

It's normal to just stop clopidogrel. I took it for 6 months after heart attack then just stopped. The usual is for 12 months. No need to taper it.
Hi,
I was on Clopidogrel for a few months after my HA and sent. Its a platelet inhibitor, it was prescribed to allow my stent to bed in.
Yes just stop. It is safe and most people only take for a short time.

Many thanks.
I was on clopidogrel for a year, but as I could not take aspirin, as they caused serious acid reflux, my cardiologist just told me go off the aspirin and take the clopidogrel for live, no issues just cold feet hands , mostly during the winter, and I do bleed a bit if I cut myself
