travel insurance through RBS

I am currently insured with Allclear and previously with Staysure, which is very expensive as I have pre existing conditions. Heart attack, M.S. breast cancer, but all gone. If I went with RBS, it works out at half the price, but would I get the same cover as Allclear as I had my heart attack in Spain, and thankfully I was covered and the bill for Allclear was 45,000 euros which I didn't have to pay, not sure what to do

Check, check and check the small print and compare one with the other. The fine details are often where the policies differ. A cheaper policy may be less costly initially but when it comes to a claim well thats where it may prove much more costly if you policy falls short.

Maybe given your original insurance company had to fork out a lot of money last time on your claim they may well expect a bigger premium from you now.

Hi I use insurancewith.com they specialise in people with pre existing conditions. I have had a heart transplant, bowel cancer, osteoporosis, gastritis arthritis and peripheral neuralgia. I have found there prices very competitive. I have never claimed so I couldn't tell you how good they are but they have five star reviews on trust pilot. Banks won't cover me at all.I hope you get covered soon and have a great holiday. Char

As meadfoot has said the only way you will found out the extent of cover with any policy is to check the small print. Then decide what degree of risk you want to take on board when you compare the exclusions and/or restrictions at the time you compare the cover quotes.

Health problems are never all gone so must always be declared. The price of treatment can be very high. Twenty years ago a friend's father had a heart attack in the uSA and the bill for OHS was in excess of £100k. As others have said read the small print. In younger days I got a policy through Prudential but only on my return found out they excluded anything diabetes related (I have been Type I since my long ago childhood). They decided my claim was diabetes affected and it cost me two weeks wages for a GP consultation and prescription. Buyer (of insurance) beware!

All of these companies are linked to one of a few underwriters who decide the claims. On the website you can generally find a link to the underwriters the about section. Some of them are better than others so for and reviews info I'll go and check the underwriter

I went with Avanti seemed a good price not as cheap as some previous ones i jave had, but the level of cover compared with previous policies seemed worth the extra.
