I’ve been having this fluttering feeling in the centre of my chest for quite a few days, it started happening in the evening so I thought it was just because I was tired , the last couple of days I’ve noticed it happening throughout the day too , it always starts up if I’ve carried or lifted something . Now it feels as if this fluttery feeling is by my pacemaker too. I have a very annoying cold that’s causing lots of pain in my ears but apart from that I feel fine . I have ectopic beats but this feels less if there’s a butterfly inside fluttering its wings . Have others had this fluttering feeling , if so did you seek medical advice . As it’s a bank holiday the gp is closed until tomorrow and I don’t feel it warrants going to the out of hours drs which will be so busy as it’s in the A& E dept so I know I’d be in for a very long wait .
Fluttering sensation in chest feeling... - British Heart Fou...
Fluttering sensation in chest feeling stronger and getting more frequent .
Does it affect your heart rhythm while this happens?
I get ectopic beats that vary in strength and numbers. They can vary from one skipped beat to several at a time. Sometimes it even feels like it stops. This fluttery feeling maybe ectopics in one way. I know mine feels fluttery when they are weaker in nature.
I have an Apple Watch and I’ve used the ecg feature to see what the trace looks like when I’m getting this fluttering , the ectopic beats show up but nothing obvious to me on the ecg when I’m having this fluttering . I know not to take the ecg on the watch as 100% , I just use it as a guide to see if anything shows up and I always get medical advice if I feel very unwell . With the ectopics I do feel as if my heart pauses but I know my pacemaker is there to stop any pauses. Heart rate is normal . Thank you for your reply
It could be AF , I suggest that you ring 111
I have an arrhythmia called SVT which can feel like short bursts of fluttering. It is generally a benign condition.
