Had a massage yesterday lunchtime to unknot shoulder and back muscles. Afterwards, I felt really spaced out, vacant and woosy. Looking at website it mentions that massage effects blood pressure. Used Kardia to do ECG and got half a dozen unrecognised readings. Slept for 2 hours and eventually came round at bedtime. I've got ventricular tachycardia.
Anyone else has problems with massage?

Deep massage is not recommended for those on anticoagulants and blood thinners; it can cause bruising and damage to one's veins. Masseurs should check a patient's health history and if in doubt may seek a GP's letter before going ahead.
When I had massages when I was younger and fitter (well, five to ten years ago), the masseuse warned that I might feel a bit light-headed, made sure that I got off the couch safely, and advised me to drink lots of water.
I had a massage like this some twenty years ago. In my case it was because the fluids in my body had moved around a bit because of lying down and so on. Was better after a couple of hours!
I have low blood pressure and I know massage can make it lower afterwards, so I can feel a bit light headed and dizzy afterwards. I try to drink more water before and after and also only have a very light massage.
Where I used to have my massages and hot stone massages facials etc won't do them anymore after having two heart attacks . (Which you do have to mention to them and have on your records. ) I am left with Prinzmentals angina. I was really upset that all my little treats seem to be off the list now and went through bad anxiety about not having anything to look forward to. I'm getting there now but has taken long time with the odd relapse of feeling sorry for myself. They did mention about blood pressure and toxins being moved around bloodstream.
I also think their insurance was part of the refusal.
Unfortunately, no questions were asked of me in the shop and as it was the first massage since my heart problems started, I wasn't aware it was an issue.
