Doxazosin

My GP has suggested I try Doxazosin as an alternative to Amlodipine that I currently take to see if it stops the light headedness and tinnitus I have been experiencing. When I was first diagnosed with high BP in December 2023 I was started on Enalapril but had to change to Amlodipine as I suffered badly with the side effect of a horrendous cough on Enalapril. I've noticed that one of the common side effects of Doxazosin is also a cough! Has anyone on here experienced that with Doxazosin? Not sure I want to go through that again as the cough was uncontrollable 24/7 !!

I came off them, i thought they made me tired. I have not noticed any changes in tinnitus since I stopped them.

Good morning. I take a 4mg Doxazosin morning and teatime and have had no problems. Some medication just like Ramapril as well can leave you with a cough. But I have a coughing episode every morning with my copd so coughing is normal for me. Amlodipine gave me terrible side effects of leg ulcers on my lower legs and they have never been right since. I am on doxazosin and haven’t noticed any side effects. I was unable to tolerate amlodipine.
