Have been taking 5mg Amlodipine for a couple of months and no side effects and BP come down. But 3 weeks ago got a slight cough which wasn't too troublesome. However this week cough is much worse and I have chills as if I had flu. Also get some indigestion after eating. Anyone else had these side effects. Seeing my GP next week. Don't want to carry on coughing like this.
Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum! I very much doubt that you are suffering side effects but more likely from a bug or even two. Amlodapine is a CCI (calcium channel inhibitor) and the main side effect from these is odema, and sometimes dizziness on starting (this usually clears after a week or two). The BP medication associated with a cough are the ACE inhibitors and ARBs. I am only just getting over a cold that has dragged on for a month. Good luck with the GP.
Hi , it's probably a bug youve picked up. I've been the same for the last couple of weeks.
Coughing, nausea, headaches, like i can't breathe properly ,mouth ulcers really feel ill. Went to the Doctors.
She said that it was a bug and Sinusitis.
I don't think what you have are side effects of Amlodopine, although I'm not a Doctor. I've been on Amlodopine for about 4 years now and although they can make you a little giddy when you 1st start taking them, the giddiness usually wears off after a week or so..
Thanks for your reply. Its just I did see a cough and flu like symptoms in a list of possible side effects but I think very rare. Probably too much use of Google and me being worried!
