Hi everyone, I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my message relating to being extremely anxious about my Cardiac Stress MRI scan. You provided some extremely helpful tips and methods and also shared your experiences too. I can say after having my scan earlier today that the advise you provided was so helpful and prepared me well in advance for the scan. The staff at the hospital were wonderful and understood my anxiety and made me really comfortable and kept me informed what was happening all way through, often pausing to speak with me during the scan. Taking on board the advise from this group I had my eyes closed prior to and all way through the scan and it really helped me switch off. I was also allowed to take my GTN into the room so that it was there should I need it, which after the adenosine had been administered did set my agina off so I spoke to the radiologist through the speakers and she came out and pulled me out the scanner and gave me the spray after a few minutes I was returned into the scanner to complete the full session.
For me the experience was a little easier than I thought the only part that gave me any concern was the administration of the adenosine but as I say the staff were very quickly to intervene. I wouldn’t have got through this without your support through the response I had and I am so grateful for being part of this wonderful supportive group , so thank you once again for all you kind words , well wishes and information you provided.🙂🙂
