Just wanted to say a very big thank you to the BHF helpline which I contacted today. I have developed an allergic reaction to one of my meds. I was getting myself into a bit of a pickle over it!! So following a discussion with a nurse today I now have a plan of action. I now feel more able to have a focused discussion with my GP with some specific actions. Also I was most impressed that she didn’t laugh at me when I asked the daftest question ever!!! Which was ‘ am I able to have an MRI scan having had a stent fitted last year? I have visions of either the stent being sucked out or shifted or me being stuck to the roof of the scanner!!’
She reassured me this wouldn’t happen and even though logically I knew that it was a vision I couldn’t get out of my mind!! So a huge thank you. Also thanks for all the great work you do from developing resources to funding research. Zena

Hi Zena.... glad your fears were allayed and that you got the help you needed. I too think the BHF nurses are THE BEST.
There have been times were I have needed answers to my concerns or even just more explanations 're a procedure that I am having done... and the doctors give such a small time slot. So the nurses have been invaluable to me... not just in reassuring ... but also advising on what questions to ask or recommending course of action. It's been the nurses and this forum that have kept me sane while going through the various procedures.
And there is no silly question ... I asked if it was ok to dance 6 weeks post op 😃😃 x
Not a stupid question. That was my first thought after having stents fitted. I was actually relieved when I thought I wouldn't be able to have an MRI because, although the first 5 were fine, I suddenly started having horrible reactions to them and couldn't complete the next two.
