PCSK9 & side effects.

Hi

Is anyone on Pradulent? I had my first injection on April 3rd. I was so happy to get started as my cholesterol sky high. Injection was fine (husband is a Nurse)! Slightly runny nose but nothing bothersome. However, last Tuesday so 6 days after the injection my hip bursitis flared up and I’ve been in agony since. I’m now concerned this is a side affect of the injection rather than a coincidence because it normally flares for 4 days and gradually gets better over that period. This time it’s just not getting better. I’m struggling to walk.

I’ve been waiting for an ultrasound guided injection in the NHS but I’ve booked and paid for one because I cannot function like this & pain killers do not touch it.

I’m just wondering if anyone had had similar experience with this medication? Specifically a flare up of an existing joint issue.

I’m completely fed up of my health at the moment. I’m 51 but feel like I’m finished.

I can’t comment on the medication but can comment on the bursitis. Is this what you suffer from? Greater trochanteric syndrome?

If yes, you may find the above link helpful.

I saw a physio privately and she gave me this link, along with a set of exercises specific to me. Instead of waking three times per night in agony, I now wake once or twice a week - still very painful but much better after eight weeks of these exercises.

Thank you for that link, that’s very kind of you. I will definitely try some of these exercises. I do need to do what I can to change my health rather than just relying on medical intervention. Bursitis is so painful isn’t it! A year ago I was walking 10 miles on a Saturday training for a walk and now I can barely walk up the stairs!
