I’ve been on bisoprolol since October 2021 .I’ve noticed 2/3 weeks after I started taking it I’ve had a slight stomach ache and feel nauseous without being sick.I just wondered if that is a common side effects.I’m going to get in touch with my GP to ask him .I’m also on warfarin, statins and I’ve just started taking Propranolol.

Bisoprolol side effects
Hi Lincolnimp66, I could not tolerate Bisoprolol at all due to chronic nausea and vomiting. I spoke to my Cardiologist and GP and after much negotiation! I was put on Nebivolol which from a nausea perspective is much better. I hope you can get sorted. Take care, Judi
Thanks for the reply.I just feel it’s bisoprolol causing the sickness feeling I’m going to ring doctor up on Monday I’m not going to take one tomorrow see if it cures it .
From other members on the forum I know that some have also suffered with the side effects of this medication. Hope you get it sorted, Judi
What with everything that’s going on with my health at the moment I’m getting really down.I’m crippled with really bad lower back pain as well I’ve had to go private with a chiropractor to try and get it sorted .Me and the wife are supposed to be on holiday in 3 weeks but the way my back is don’t think I could manage 4 hours on a plane.
Gosh, I am so sorry to hear that. I do hope you can get it sorted and go on holiday. I am sure the holiday would be just what is needed, I hope the Chiropractor can help. It’s so tough when we feel down along with everything else we have to cope with. I am thinking of you and really hope the treatment helps. Three weeks gives you a bit of time I guess. Take care, Judi
I’m going back to the Doctor tomorrow I’ve had enough of not getting any answers.I’ve got lower back pain ,stomach ache then on Thursday the specialist said that they had found 8 mm nodule on my lung.I can’t understand why she said they will get me in for some tests ,I would of thought with my other symptoms they would of done it straight away surely.I’m paranoid now that I’ve got the dreaded C word .I had a full blood count on New Year’s Day and that come back normal.
It can take a bit of trial and error getting medications that suit each individual. Dont be afraid to be firm with your GP. I hope you feel well enough to travel.
Are yu also on PPIs to protect your stomach because they can make you feel like that.
I have been on Bisopropol for years , 10 mg morning and 5 at night, I have never noticed any particular side effects , but I can tolerate a bit of grippy tummy if the meds are helping my heart…ALL meds have some side effects and you also need to have a care over any supplements you take , herbal or vitamins can have a serious effect on meds and body. . BIsopropol does seem to get a bad press on this forum, but is there another med that helps the heart as effectively?
I’ve been on bisoprolol since having a cardiac arrest in 2020 . My stomach issues have been horrendous since but I can’t get anyone to listen so good luck
This was a horrible medication it made me so unwell with my stomach and feeling totally drained lethargic then my back was agony but found out it was the stains that caused severe back pain and muscle pain It's so annoying when Dr's don't listen and tell you it's not the medication, how do they know, its not them taking it its your body you know best
Hope you get it sorted before your holiday
Take care x
