Hi My name is Dee and I am being medicated for Angina Symptoms. I had a chest X-Ray that showed my lungs were fine, but my heart was larger than it should be. I am always breathless and have pain in my chest when I exert my self. I assumed this was my lungs! I had an appointment at Hospital last week. The Ecg showed a few anomalies? I have an appointment for an Echocardiogram in August and also waiting for an appointment for a Cardiac CT Scan to come through. So at the moment I am not sure if its Angina or something else. But I guess the Aspirin and statin will do me some good. I have not had to use the spray, as I have not gone up the hills to cause the chest pain. The Hospital has sent a letter today asking my GP to prescribe me a beta blocker, that hopefully won't make my raynaurds any worse. I must admit I am a bit nervous about over exerting my self too much. Does the Nitrate Spray work?

Hi I was on Bisoprolol but had to stop due to having Raynauds. My feet were the coldest I’ve ever experienced with nothing able to heat them.

Hi, Thankyou for your reply. I know how you feel with the cold feet. If I can't get them warm, then there is no getting warm. Have you tried either silver or silk socks. They are expensive, but I have found them to work under a pair of socks in winter as a base layer, when I am at work.

Regards Dee.

Yes it does but you might find it’ll give you a near instant headache too.

Hi Steve,

Thankyou for your reply. Do you only get a headache the first time you use the spray? or every time?

Regards Dee.

Fortunately, I had very little opportunity to use it (I had my op very quickly), but every time I used that spray I got a banging headache almost immediately.

Hi. Yes the spray does work but leaves me feeling sick and headache for a couple of hours afterward!

But I don’t go anywhere without it !

Hi Dee. Welcome. When you take your spray make sure you’re able to sit down or lean against something as it can cause light headed ness. Try just walking along the flat to keep your exercise going. If Bisoprolol doesn’t work then do go back to GP there are some other options available. Hope all goes well for you. Best wishes. Zena

Hi Zena,

Thankyou for your reply. The letter I had from the Hospital said I was not to exert my self. So I went for my walk today on the flat. I have my spray with me. And luckily there are a few places on the flat I can sit on seats if need be. I get my beta blocker tomorrow.

Regards Dee.

Hello Dee, I have ranauds, started about five years ago, my feet have always cold but my hands have now joined in, my fingers go white and my nails go blue, I shall go to the Dr when the weather turns cold and ask for Nefedipine. I knitted myself some wool socks for winter and in winter I shall wear two pairs of gloves, I was going to knit some but I not as dexterous as I was, the fingers are fiddled.

Thankyou for your reply, I have had the raynauds for years now. Have to wear gloves when I go in freezers and chillers at work. Some work colleagues can't quite get it as its so hot that I still get an attack? I get my beta blocker tomorrow. Have you tried silver socks or silk socks to wear under your socks. I must admit they are expensive, but do work. I can keep my feet warm, but a job with the hands, as not easy to use the till with gloves on, and fingerless mittens are no use at all.

Regards Dee.

Thank you for the tip about silver/silk socks, I shall purchase some very shottly. Hands are difficult to keep warm, mine are fine in this heatwave for the time being. Again thank you Dee.
