After seeing cardiologist at John RADCLIFFE, asked gp about going on inclisiran, i had aerotic valve replaced and partial myectomy, have high cholesterol, told i could not have inclisiran, because not had heart attack, stroke or vascular disease

I have just been prescribed this .I had a heart attack and stent implanted in 2021So waiting to see if it helps cholesterol levels

Probably due to cost, there are a set of rules that he NHS adhere to, as laid down by NICE for the prescription of Inclisiran as below. If you qualify you are eligible , if you don't you will find it difficult to get on board unless your prescribing health professional is sympathetic.

Definitely cost. It is about £2k per injection. The NHS has a commercially confidential discount, but it’s still going to be expensive.

the NHS guidance is only for people that have had a cardiovascular event. Actually they have only had a later stage trial with those who have had an event. They’ve started a trial with high risk individuals who haven’t had an event but they haven’t concluded yet.
