Hi I have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. I'm only 39 but the doctors only seem to want to give me pills and not do anything like ablation. I'm really worried tbh. I had an acute subdural haematoma a few years bk and now this lol. Really struggling

Worried about AF
Hi, you don't say how often you have AF, what symptoms you suffer or what medication you have been prescribed. With a little more information members could probably offer some insights.
However, you'd probably get more help by posting on the AF Association forum:

Best wishes,

Have you been referred to an Electrophysiologist - they specialise in heart rhythm issues and would be able to refer you for an ablation if they thought it would be the best treatment for you.
Hello Choccie 55
Hope you’re well
I’m trying to gain advice I was diagnosed with AF two yrs ago have been on Atenolol daily since
I’m concerned after reading that my dr hasn’t referred me to a cardiologist yet
I have had slight chest pains recently due to stress tired a lot and get out of breath easier than before I’m 54 eat healthy walk don’t drink or eat junk food
Although I was also diagnosed with Nafld as well total shock also seem to have Ibs symptoms lately bloating sickness loss of appetite and have low thyroid
Need an overhaul !!
Do you think I should ask my dr about more support with my heart
Many Thanks for reading
Lee
Hi, I’m well thanks.
If you are concerned and would like more information and options about your heart condition I would definitely ask your GP to refer you to a cardiologist. Unfortunately it seems we have to advocate for ourselves more and more these days with all the pressures on the NHS. I was referred last year and there was a three month waiting list to be seen. I’m now on a six month waiting list for an ablation. I was diagnosed with SVT six years ago and take Bisoprolol daily. My episodes have increased over the years which is why I’ve opted for the ablation. Good luck!
