weight gain

Hi,

I had my triple Bypass done in Nov 23 and have been getting back into a good exercise regimen and also joined SW to try and shift a 1st of weight gain. I’ve been sticking well to the plan but no weight change and wondering if I’m still retaining fluid. I’ve no swelling in my legs etc just seem to have put it on around the stomach. I’ve never been this weight for years and usually would loose a stone in weight within about 6 weeks on a consistent diet. Anyone else got this problem. Ps could it be meds?

David

Hello :-)

I think sometimes it could be meds on a few of mine it says can gain weight even though some this does not affect them this way there are also some it can

Maybe have a ned review if you can get one and mention this they might be able to adjust your meds and see if it makes a difference

Let us know how you get on :-) x

A med review would be brilliant but unfortunately contact with a GP or pharmacist is nearly non existent. I’m using their words “on the radar” meaning we will get to you sometime. I’ve found your really on your own regarding med adjustments etc and need to have your wits about you.

Hello :-)

Yes I get how difficult it can be to get to talk to someone but keep trying and fingers crossed eventually someone will give you that med review :-) x

My gp pharmacist was supposed to call me back yesterday to discuss change in statin and beta blocker dose . Texted me to arrange a 2 hour time frame for call . Adjusted my day accordingly and guess what ? No call 😡

Still haven’t had and kind of follow up with cardiology either 😱

I’m exactly the same only worse, my original cardiologist who I have never met only phone calls passed me over to another trust for the operation and I had AF after surgery so was seen in emergency. The original cardiologist won’t see me as I’m not in his trust area anymore and the emergency cardiologist won’t see me as it was only in A&E. Thankfully the rehab nurses have been brilliant.

The nurses are good . I had my initial assessment with them a couple of weeks ago , and start the cardiac rehab program on Wednesday
