I am currently on daily statin (40mg Atorvastatin) - no major side effects and tolerating it pretty well. However, I have noticed a few random days of extreme tiredness in the morning. I dont think it is related to low bp/sugar levels as it is after breakfast.and levels are good.
Has anyone experienced tiredness/fatigue too?
thanks -

As far as I am aware being tired is not a side effect of taking statins. Muscle and joint aches and pains for some.people yes, tiredness no. That aside you haven't told us if you are taking any other medication which may cause tiredness. And there are a number of medical conditions which could cause tiredness including thyroid issues, diabetes and anaemia. I suggest you make an appointment with your GP who will have access to your medical records and should be able to give a professional opinion, and arrange for any tests as necessary.
No other medicine apart from low dose Aspirin daily. Had blood test about a year ago - with high chokesterol the only issue. But a conpletely new lifestyle since the diagnosis of cvd. Healthy lifestyle with 5 days a week on rowing machine and minimal processed food - following a med diet. So far so good, been 7m into it and still going strong.
Just a thought. Why not have a holiday from the rowing machine for a week or so and go for a brisk 3k walk instead and see if that makes any difference.
