He's really good today. Moving his fingers as well as arms and legs now. They said he ooged himself up in the chair, and got his arms through the gown himself. Tomorrow they're getting him on the edge of the bed and into the chair, so all moving the right way. I'm taking his tablet in tomorrow and he can watch YouTube, they'll put it on if he can't manage. He's watching Last of the summer wine now on YouTube through their monitor, lol. He started falling asleep and opened his eyes and mouthed sorry, bless him. Main ventilator down to 0 for 2 x 4 hours a day, so that's really good and his breathing is good. xx

Wiggly everything, Castleview 👋🙌💖 Wonderful news! It's so good to hear that there's less reliance on the ventilator now that confidence in hubby's breathing has grown.

Wishing you both well as hubby continues his recovery and takes those steady steps towards home 👣🙏😍

Thank you for sharing your difficult journey with us, Castleview. Our familiarity may be virtual, but our caring is real. XXX

This is so good to read :-) I am so glad and relieved that he's moving his arms, that's huge compared to a week ago, and reduced reliance on ventolation even better. Physio sounds to be working well :-)He'll soon be off ventilator altogether, and that post I can't wait to see. Gentle hugs to the pair of you 🫶 :-)

Hello :-)

It won't be long till he is dancing :-)

He really is doing so well now every post now there is so much improvement and good news which is so lovely to read and I am sure you are feeling so much better than a few weeks ago to :-)

He will enjoy watching You Tube and glad his breathing is so much better and they have been able to reduce the main ventilator and he is breathing so well :-)

We look out for your updates and thank you so much :-)

I think we are all waiting for that post when you say he is home with you where he belongs which even though it might be a little while longer I hope you can see with this progress it will be soon :-) x

in reply toBeKind28-

Well BeKind I thought I'd check in with you today and see how you are ( just when you thought you were safe from me)I heading off to Raigmore Hospital tomorrow to get my 08:06 alarm cancelled so that should be me.

On a less positive note I broke my digger yesterday right in the middle of clearing the sheds after the winter so back to manual clearing until it gets repaired so if you're doing nothing I have some spare shovels!

BeKind28- profile image
BeKind28- in reply to

Hello :-)

I am actually feeling quite down with one thing and another but you sound very chirpy considering you are of to the Hospital tomorrow I hope you will let us know how you get on :-)

O dear sorry to hear about the digger I am sure though I am busy today ( not sure doing what :-D ) but if I wasn't I would have come and helped for what use I would be :-) x

in reply toBeKind28-

Good morning hope you are feeling better, I have taken it upon myself to talk with you every few days if that's OK with you?2 secs while I slip my scrubs on and don a stethoscope...... Now tell me all your news and how you are feeling?

By the way I've repaired the digger so you are off the hook with the shovel.

Hello :-)

We will get told of for talking on post you know by someone :-o

Thank you though for asking after me I ended up in A&E actually Friday night and for someone that is agoraphobic that was a task in itself getting me there and still trying to get over the shock of leaving the house

So it is really good news you repaired that digger as I would have been even less use now :-) x

Good news Castleview, except for the bit about last of the summer wine 🥱😂. It seems like he hasn't suffered any long lasting or high impacting brain damage. Soon he could be moved to a high dependency ward, where he'll come on in leaps and bounds I'm sure. Keep looking after yourself too.

in reply toWooodsie

I think as soon as he's off the ventilator and had the tracheotomy removed, after 24 hours he should be moved to PCU.Nothing wrong with summer wine 😜😂x

Slow and steady...he and you are very patient...that the ventilator is still in is a bit of discomfort..but should be out today..if it still is going according to plan..I hope so...it will make a huge difference...wishing you both continued strength and luck too...everyone here says a prayer for him too..just keep that oicture of him being fine..walking towards you in your mind..positivity plays a big part in recovery.

in reply toElsabounre

Ventilator has to stay 24 hours after it's down to 0, so tracheotomy will hopefully be out Wednesday afternoon or Thursday x
