To be quite honest I think these videos are the worst thing to watch. Almost medieval. I'm aware that many would disagree with me .

I've had 26 electrical cardioversions so am

what you might call experienced with the procedure. Do not get alarmed. I agree that the whole idea sounds quite frightening but it truly isn't. You will be well sedated so completely unaware . Its all over in minutes. Really nothing to worry about. I had my last one 2 weeks ago.

Best wishes

J

hi I was on amiodarone for 2.5 years and it got my af under control but I had to stop it a few months ago as it gave me a over active thyroid and I lost a lot of weight now it’s gone to other way and it’s hugely under active and I’m put on lots of weight. And I couldn’t go out in in sun. I went on a high does to start with then back to one. I hope you don’t get any side affects x

As Jalia said, there's nothing to worry about. Before the procedure you sign a consent form, and they'll list all the things that can go wrong, but it's just something they are legally obliged to do.

It's straightforward, you won't feel a thing, and it's surprising how well you'll feel afterwards.
