I am on a cocktail of medication for heart failure/AF/low BP. I feel absolutely awful for about an hour or two after I get up in the mornings. Could it be related to one of the tablets?

Feeling terrible in the mornings
I sympathise with you, but have no answers. I remember my mum used to struggle in a morning too. She, like you, was on a cocktail of medication. I myself am just about to post regarding side effects.
I hope someone on here can gleam some light on this for you x
Hello
It could very well be the medications you take which one though is where it can be difficult to find out that is making you feel this way
I always feel rotten when I get up in a Morning takes me till lunch time before I feel better but I just put up with it maybe I should not though
I would talk with your Doctor they may be able to adjust some of your meds or maybe advise different times taking them that could help but you need to make an appointment and talk this through with them
Let us know how you get on x
as has been said, you might speak to your doc but before you do your pharmacist might advise. Either the one you get your medication from or, preferably, if there is one attached to your docs group of surgeries. The receptionist would know if there is one.
Hi, I had Nstemi in July and quadruple bypass 25th July . Initial dose of 3.75mg bisoprolol ( along with clopidogrel, aspirin, pantaprazole, artovastatin) was making me spaced out /zombie like for periods of the day plus dizziness. . First consultation with cardiologist in September and he reduced it to 1.25 mg and introduced half a tablet of 1.25mg Rampiril. Much better , no zombie or regular dizziness. I’m now looking to get something done about the artovastatin 80mg , I’m sure that is causing me aches /pains , cognitive impairment and constant tinnitus. 🤦🏼 I’ve felt shite since December , very tired, unmotivated, struggle to get out my bed. Very unlike me .Too many aches and pains to do my rehab . I’m really looking forward to seeing my consultant to discuss. You could follow up with your GP/consultant. You have to let them know. I have made a fantastic recovery so far but have been in this fog for over a month , I haven’t done anything different.
Interesting to read your comment, I feel awful in the mornings also, i don’t like waking up as I know feeling unwell will start and last a couple of hours.
hi there. I am quite new to all this (only been taking heart medication since 30 December and I have the same, feeling very fragile for a couple hours after taking all my meds in the morning.
In the morning I take aspirin, lisiprinol , brilique, omeprazole and bisoprolol. (I take my statin in the evening)
Trying to work out if it is a side affect of one particular drug, or just generally my body trying to process the cocktail.
Do you eat breakfast before you take your cocktail? Sometimes I wonder if it’s related to what and whether I have eaten.
Watching any further replies with interest.
It might be an idea to look at the leaflet and see if they recommend a specific time of day for taking them, or on an empty stomach etc.
It is very easy to get casual about medication and take them at times convenient to us, rather than at the most effective time.
I would suspect you can't tolerate the Bisopropol, as I couldn't, but you need to consult your GP, mine took me off them immediately.
Hi I’m on HF cocktail also. Might be the same ones. I feel awful before I take my meds and once I take them I still feel awful. Some days my stomach hurts, I have heartburn and I feel nauseous. Each day is different. I might have all those symptoms or I might have one or two. Some days I feel very dry and I’ve been told to drink only 1 1/2 litres a day of liquid.
I am on a cocktail of drugs after diagnosis of HF myself. After hospital discharge I started taking them all in the morning as prescribed. For the next 2 hours I didn't know about myself. Just terrible. Got in touch with cardiac matron under whose care I was and she changed some of the medications I did not tolerate at all. I also started taking them during the whole day.
My advice is:
Take them individually in the morning, lunch time, afternoon and evening. Observe how they affect you, take your blood pressure and heart beat.
If there are some you don't tolerate at all speak to your medical professional who can make a change.
This should help you.
Afternoon Cyclehappy, sorry to read about you feeling poorly in the mornings. I have similar diagnosis HF, AF, low blood pressure and chronic pain syndrome and a cocktail of medication to control symptoms. I had similar morning and evening sickness, no energy , lots of pain and drop in BP. The cardiologist took me off Spiralactone, digoxin and split my remaining tablets evenly across the day. This has really helped for my mornings, still exhausted and in pain on evenings but this is being reviewed again by my GP on Wednesday. I hope you improve soon, it is tough when you do not have a quality of life. Keep us updated.
