Went to Boots last week to pick up my prescription as was told that they had no Ezetimibe but she had been in touch with the warehouse and they should have them by the 28th of this month. Anyone else still having problems sourcing this tablet ?

Several other medicines are not available .Mirtazapine for one. It is a particular problem with Boots although other pharmicies also have shortages.

Hi, I have spent the last 4 days trying to find somewhere that had it in stock. Boots had not got any in any of their branches near me, Tesco neither, I finally had luck at Asda who had just had a delivery. My personal belief is that the drug companies pay the drs to prescribe certain drugs and at the moment the focus is Ezetimibe hence why pharmacies have run out.

No I’m not I’m in U.K. it was just an opinion due to my personal circumstances. Didn’t mean to offend

You didn't offend me! I was just shocked to think that Drs are offered financial inducements to prescribe some drugs...Hope that's not the case in Scotland!

I don’t know that they are it was just a thought due to what happened with me. I know the government and NHS get together and hone in on a particular illness, like pre-diabetes type 2 and set up support groups to hopefully stop it getting to actual diabetes to save nhs money in long run. That alone I get but now my surgery are checking everyone who ever had high cholesterol and putting them on this cholesterol drug that has been so difficult to get a hold of. Just a thought. It’s like suddenly I’m told I have CKD I had no idea no one ever told me that prior to having a new Dr, just made me think that’s all. I don’t trust much at all these days as every thing seems money orientated ? I could be completely wrong and probably are it may just be the low mood it has put me in.😌

ezetimbe has been in short supply for the last 6 weeks and prices have gone up by around 10 times

Pharmacies are not only struggling to get the stock but also loose lots of money when dispensing it thus making it difficult for availability

Did you manage to get them as my chemist told me last week Friday then Monday if not deffo Tuesday well here we are after 7 days of none and all I get is we can't say when they will arrive and should go back to my Stroke doctor who may advise another solution.
