Just wondering if anyone else had severe exhaustion when taking this cholesterol lowering drug? I have been on it for 2 months and felt so tired and exhausted,it does say tiredness on side effects but this was different,my gp said the other day that sometimes it can cause adverse reactions so came off it last weekend and WOW! Feel like a different woman!!

I have no problems with ezetimibe which I have being taking for about 12 months in addition to max dose Atorvastatin. And for me the ezetimibe has further noticeably reduced my total cholesterol which is welcome.

I started Ezetimibe early this year and I’m having no problems with it. I couldn’t take statins so I’m pleased. It’s lowered my cholesterol a lot on its own with me eating better.

Also I noticed it’s normally given with a statin but it’s done the job alone for me.

I am unable to take any statin due to muscle / tendon inflamation. I was given Ezetimibe in 2017. I was OK for around 6 weeks then my poo turned virtually white and my wee very dark. Within another couple of weeks I developed acute pancratitis and was in hospital for 28 days. Pancratitis is listed as a very rare side efect of Ezetimebe, I cannot prove that my problems were due to Ezetimebe and I do have some liver issues due to HepA as a child, but my specialist and GP said that it was likley, so i "yellow carded it". Post NSTEMI I am now on Inclisiran injection which seem to work well.

they tried me on them. Couple of years ago tolerated it to 5 weeks then awful. Extreme gout. Stomach discomfort mainly I am running out of options

I have been on Inclisiran injection for 9 months now and have had two injections. I have felt flue - like for a couple of days after the injection, but have not had any soreness at the injection site which is a common problem. I do suffer from muscle stiffness and leg cramps, but they are no where near as seere as those caused by statins and I can live with them. The first sign of problems with Ezetimebe for me was severe abdominal pain which I foolishly ignored. It is only when I developed a temperature of 40.1 DegC that I called an ambulance, was taken to hospital and pancratitis was diagnosed, I was in for 28 days & it was a bit of a close call.

Inclisiran is a new anti cholesterol drug, and I am part of a clinical trial. It is exteremly expensive at the moment but the NHS will supply it if you have high cholesterol, cannot tolerate other remedies and have had a "coronery event" It is extremely effective.

Hope this helps,

R,

Hi, I have been on Ezetimibe & pravastatin since my heart attack 14months ago.I have been fine on it.I was experiencing tiredness, but mine was due to Under active thyroid so meds were increased for that. Its amazing how medication that actually helps a condition can make it worse.I was on ticagrelor( blood thinner)with asprin Ticagelor stopped after 12months as is the norm.My breathing has been so much better!

Maybe you will get another statin that suits you .All the best

Hi. I’ve been on half a tablet for years and just this week increased to full tablet or 10mg. No side effects on half tablet and don’t know yet about the full tablet. I’ve found that when I take my meds in the morning I feel the side effects a couple of hours later and for about 3 hours feel lousy. Then I start feeling better again as bp goes up a little.
