sickness bug and Apixaban

Hi all I’ve been on Apixaban 5mg twice a day and Bisoprolol 2.5mg for six weeks. Last night I had sickness and diorrreah. I’m wondering if I should take my meds as normal this morning, I also take two blood pressure tablets Olmesartan 20mg and Lercanidipine 10mg.

It seems a lot of tablets on an empty stomach, especially the Apixaban.

I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly. Give your local pharmacy a call and explain the situation as I know that sickness and diarrhoea can both affect how well medication works. Failing that, you can speak to your GP.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for replying, I did phone the pharmacist but he was busy today, I didn’t really want to bother the doctor so I ate two dry biscuits and spaced the tablets out. I seem okay, I might miss tonight’s dose and take them earlier tomorrow.
