I have been put on this 3 months ago as diagnosed with AF. Already have hypertension for years . I am on 5mg twice a day and have been experiencing a few nosebleeds. Has anyone else experienced this.
I am also on Losartan and bendroflumethiazid along with the Apixaban 5mg twice a day.

Apaxiban is, like others, an anti coagulant. Small cuts abrasions etc.,tend to bleed sometimes profusely. So a small abrasion in the nasal cavity can be quite bloody. It is the nature of the beast, anticoagulants cause more bleeding and bruising. Good news your body gets used to it to some extent, at least mine has, I used to get nose bleeds but now I just get a pink handkerchief ! It is a good medication to stop blood clots and we dont want one of those. G
I have been on Apixaban for several weeks, I think this a life-long med. Yes it does come with this warning of bleeding, by this I mean in general. Minor cuts did not stop bleeding for 10 hours!
I now use blunt blades for shaving! I dred the day I ever have a serious injury, it will lead to unimaginable complications. I don't have a solution yet other than to temporarily stop taking it if anything serious happened to me.
Let me know how you have dealt with your nose bleeds!
