yes when I first went on it at 2.5mg I got bradycardia so it was reduced to 1.25mg which stopped the dizziness and low heart rate but it didn’t stop the awful nightmares and getting up loads of times in the night for the loo! Spoke to gp and stopped taking it. Hope you’re ok soon

Hi, I was taken off Bisoprolol for a different reason, chest pain in my case, but it took about 4-6 weeks before if finally resolved. I’m only mentioning that as I think, for some folk, it can take quite a while for the effects of Bisoprolol to leave the system .

Yes, I’m on Verapamil now, too. A shame, as I think Bisoprolol is better at rate control (I have fast AF) but Verapamil suits me better.

Hi, bit late to the party but I was taken off Bisoprolol because my HR was dropping into the 30s and I was like an extra in a zombie movie. I was only on 1.25mg to boot.

Recently taken off Bisoprolol (mid October) due to dizziness issues on a daily basis. Difficult to pick the right words but fuzzy and a sense of disconnect even though only on low dose of 1.25mg Spoke with Gp and stopped taking it, I now notice a marked improvement in the way I feel with fuzzy spells much reduced. Agreed to record BP daily for future reference

Good to read this thread. I have had a difficult time since starting BP meds in Jan. Palpitations started in April and caused me anxiety as pre "borderline" hypertension. I was 100% physically and mentally very fit 59 yo. Started amlodipine 5mg increased to 10mg then added ramipril 2.5mg and increased to 5mg and that's when Palpitations started. Have now reduced/removed amlodipine, reduced ramipril back to 2.5mg, increased ramipril back to 5mg. Took myself to A&E last Sunday due to major beat skipping. Bloods "very good" according to Dr, he thought it could be anxiety after all the changes as it had affected me mentally more than I was prepared for. A&E Dr reduced ramipril back to 2.5mg but prescribed bisoprolol 2.5mg to reduce heart rate. I explained that my resting hr was 52-56 and didn't want it reduced further. It stopped the "fluttering" but I am tired to the point of fatigue and mentally exhausted. No idea if it's ectopic or bp caused so am awaiting cardio appt for Holter machine. I plan to revisit my GP and demand a coordinated plan or I will take myself off all meds and take my chances, as I say am non smoker, only red wine drinker, good sensible exercise plan. I cannot allow others to dictate my life and deliver such poor results and health. My Dr's is a teaching practice and I am losing confidence that I am getting the best and considered treatment as I see a different gp/trainee every time I visit. I have written all my symptoms and concerns down to address with senior gp, but do want to clear all these meds out of my body and try to recover the "good old me" and not this tired, worried patient with anxieties they have delivered for me. Will try to hang on for the cardio appt before dumping the meds, but as that's 8-12 weeks wait, I cannot endure this ill-health syndrome I have been placed in. Time I think to take charge and responsibility for my own body if GP cannot deliver.

I’m just the opposite, I’m on 10mg bisoprolol now, originally on 2.5mg but doctor kept putting it up and up. My heart is jumping all over the place(I have Afib)and I’m so breathless I can hardly walk a few steps.I had an ecg on Monday which doctor said was ok.I really don’t understand the conclusions they come to.

I have the same problem, I was admitted to hospital last week because I had an episode and pulse was only 36, I think the bisopropol is to blame but having it checked out now

Hi yes. I took 2.5mg at night and my pulse reduced to 30 and av. 45-60 daytime. I started taking in the morning instead, and my bpm increased to about 45 and daytime stayed at 45-60What is your bpm?
