Hello all. Would somebody shred some light on microvascular angina for me... Can this disease cause burning in the throat and top of the inside my mouth?? Not sure if I am suffering from this disease or Gerd? Or maybe both....

Hi Red 18

What would like to know?

I live with both Microvascular and vasospastic angina.

Feel quite poorly today. Not a good day. I haven't been diagnosed as yet with microvascular angina but sometimes I have heartburn and pains in back and shoulders. Today though just burning mouth inside and throat??

Have you discussed this with your GP?

A burning sensation in your throat sounds is not the usual symptom of microvascular angina.

It can sometimes be very difficult to tell the difference between spasms in your gullet / oesophagus or spasms in the blood vessels in your heart.

Jonathan has has some experience of pain due to oesophagesl spasms and microvascular angina. Hopefully he will be able to share his experience with you too.

Have you had any tests to rule out GERD or Microvascular angina?

Had andiogram showing 70% blockage in LAD. Have no trouble whatsoever with exercise and I've had a dopamine stress test and nothing showed on this test either?? What I do know is that having been diagnosed with heart disease in November I have totally changed my diet completely. From eating all white rubbish to mainly eating healthy. Don't know whether my stomach bacteria has taken a battering. So confused?? Thankyou so very much for taking the time out to reply. Hope you are keeping well.

No symptoms

Hi Red, it sounds as if your symptoms are all related to either heartburn or possible a hiatus hernia which can cause heartburn.

Also, changing to a healthy diet and eating fatty foods like avacado and nuts as well as green vegetables will increase flatulence. I burp and fart all the time👍

Hellooooo fergusthegreat. I just hope it isn't microvascular angina... All my symptoms started really when I began my diet change. I think it was 2 months into it. Don't know whether it's to do with my change in gut bacteria?? Feel really poorly with it. Lost 2 stones and chloesterol down from 5.9 to 4.5

I hope it isn't microvascular angina either!

I would not wish microvascular or vasospastic angina on my worst enemy.

I know. I follow your posts and know how much you suffer. Can only hope and pray. I think I am in denial if being honest

Oh bless you Red 18.

I am sending you a virtual hug.

Maybe go back to your GP and discuss your heartburn symptoms.

Pain whatever the cause needs to be investigated and treated properly.

Hey! I don’t know much about this disease, but someone commented A LOT of info about this on my recent post labeled “heart jolting”. They were super insightful and posted tons of links! You should check it out and ask him your questions! Hope you get answers!

However, I do have GERD and get burning in throat, chest, and mouth!

Thanks and God bless

If you get a lot of belching you might try a dairy intolerance test by your local GP. It's a very common affliction, about 1 in 6 have it.

Hi lanc2. Would it of not shown itself many years ago if i was dairy intolerant??

Hellooooo cowparsley. How long after taking the omeprazole did it relieve the symptoms? I got diagnosed with heart disease back in November. Went on a mainly plant based diet and was feeling fine. After about 2 months then when I started to get the indigestion type symptoms and continual belching. So worried. Thankyou so very much for replying. Have a great day
