I had a CT angiogram scan yesterday and was told that my calcium score is 0.
I haven’t had the official report and the only reason I was told is because they did the scan in 2 parts as my heart rate was higher than required for the scan.
I did ask if that means I could still have CAD and they said yes , although Low chance based on what they’ve seen.
I read online if you have a calcium score of 0 then you don’t have coronary artery disease.
I’ll wait the report but wondered if anyone had any insight?
Thanks

Calcium scores are a great indicator of how much plaque you have in your arteries. The plaque doesn't show up on scans but calcium does. It's very unlikely you have any significant plaque but of course I'm not medically equipped to say that!My calcium score was 978, anything below 100 is classed as ok/good. I'd be elated if I were you but wait to see what the official results are. I think you can relax though as far as CAD is concerned unless the scan was unsuccessful because of your heart rate.
