I have previously waited between 1 week to several months for results to come back. If it’s urgent, they will contact you sooner otherwise, due to delays, you may not hear back from them for a while. I would call the department tomorrow and chase up those results.

All the best.

Thanks Tos92 I will do that tomorrow just thought they never said anything about when I would get results when I had it done

They usually say results sent to gp or the specialist who sent you to them in 7 to 14 days. I'd give it a week and then if you've heard nothing, ring gp or consultants secretary.

I’d say if you haven’t heard in a week or two chase it up. Not heart related but my husband was on a cardiology ward in June being treated for a leaking tricuspid valve and AF and had a final scan on his last day (day 12 in hospital). 4 weeks later we hadn’t heard and chased it up. As he had been discharged no one looked at it- he needed an urgent biopsy on his liver. I spent 4 days on the phone trying to get someone to take ownership of the scan and organise his biopsy. 10 days later he got his biopsy- 2 weeks after that he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Don’t just assume everything is ok if you don’t hear. Good luck.

Yes you would think there would be some kind of communication but like you say these days especially with that strike last week that will put them even further behind

Hiya, Spoke to a nurse 3 weeks post scan only to be informed that scan has not been reported due staff shortages. Currently still waiting and were in to 6 weeks post scan.

Good luck, it may take a while!
