Follow up appointment

I saw my specialist today along with my interpreter and found out why I was admitted to hospital 10 months after having 2 stents fitted in my main arteries, after experiencing severe chest pains again. One of the stents had collapsed and needed restenting. I must admit to feeling a bit relieved as I was worried that the pills weren't working and it had all started again. They have put a stent inside the stent and hopefully that will do the trick. They said one of three things may have caused this, not taking the pills, poor diet or just that the stent failed. We came to the conclusion the stent must have been the problem as I am very strict with taking my pills and my diet is very good. My Kidneys need to be checked more regularly as the signs are very slightly raised but other than that all is well. Thank you for listening.

Good news indeed Mirador, must be a relief to you as well. Did you find any information on Spanish rehab classes if there us such a thing?

I must admit I forgot to ask but there was no info forthcoming from my consultant. He just mentioned about exercising and sticking to a healthy diet.

Ok, time to get your walking shoes on, best form of exercise to start!

Yes I enjoy a good walk, in this weather it’s a bit tricky but early morning or later in the evening. I’ve been walking up and down 5 flights of stairs instead of taking the lift. Hopefully that is helping.

That's good news, must be a relief to know what's going on. Good luck with the stair climbing!

its a great start, understood about the timing of walks with the heat. You must listen to your body and rest when you need to. We have all suffered from thinking we can do more and do more but suffer the following day, its a learning process for you and your body.

good luck Mark
