Fatigue and BP

Hi everyone I hope you are enjoying the sunshine, and keeping hydrated.

I have been experiencing a lot of fatigue over recent months. I am on a low dose of Nebivolol only 1.25mg. My BP is averaging at 104/48 and I am wondering if this could cause the fatigue, I am thinking of speaking to my doc. Stay well everyone with this heat. Judi

Do speak to your doc as your diastolic fig of 48 is far too low and could be contributing to your fatigue. Meanwhile do make extra sure that you are keeping well hydrated

I agree with that. On teh odd occasion meds have dropped my diastolic so low I've felt absolutely dreadful. I would guess a change of dose is needed.

Your diastolic ( or bottom figure) is low and your systolic is on the lower end of normal . If this is happening regularly you may well have Diastolic Hypotension and this would certainly account for your Fatigue.Do you know what your heart rate is on average , this also helps to give a more accurate picture?

You should always note your heart rate as well as your blood pressure in your diary , and ask for your heart rate result when they take it at an appointment because even the professionals are prone to overlook noting it.

Are you also having any other symptoms , including ones that aren't heart based, apart from Fatigue?

Note these down because it will give a clearer picture to your doctor of what is happening and what things to test for and rule out.

You should definitely contact your GP and ask for a phone appointment at the earliest they can fit you in or a face to face appointment straight away if one is available.

It could be something very simple like needing a adjustment in your dose of medications.

You should also request other blood tests if you haven't had them in the last six months , as guided by NICE , for full blood count, kidney and liver function, Vitamin B 12 , Iron and Ferritin, Folates and Vitamin D.

These will help rule out the possibility of any low or deficient nutrient levels effecting your health in general, including blood pressure symptoms, which can happen, even if you have a good diet, if you are on certain medications or have long term health conditions.

Let us know how you get on , take care and be careful to pace yourself and keep hydrated whilst you wait for your appointment, Bee

Thank you so much for your lovely note. I am going to contact the doctor tomorrow and see what they say. I have only experienced this since taking Nebivolol. My heart rate is between 70 and 75. Thank you again. Judi

Hope you feel better soon. Some of these meds can play havoc with our bodies. Risks and benefits I guess. 🤗🤗

Get advice, now. I've been getting low BP readings with a slightly higher than normal HR, before it got hot. I felt quite unwell but didn't realise how bad I felt until I started to feel better. Very, very tired, light headed, dizzy, black spots in front of my eyes.On medical advice I halved one med, then another, and then the 2nd one halved again.

Still getting some dips, and will be having blood tests including potassium.

Let us know how you get on.

Your diastolic is definetly too low but your systolic is in the ideal range, you need to see about your low diastolic soonest.
