Post Plague high bp and fatigue

Hi. I am 58, fit and had 3 stents placed in late august 2022 and made a good recovery. I was back park running with good times. I caught the plague (that which shall not be named) in december and tested positive for 13 days until Christmas Eve. This last week has been difficult and getting worse. Pulsating headache. Fatigue which doesnt improve with rest or sleep. Out of breath after little exertion. Dizzy on standing up and my blood pressure is elevated to grade 1 hypertension. Its normally 120/80. I am worried and confused. Is this a post plague thing or restenosis? I would be grateful for any advice.

I had something very similar, tested positive for about twelve days and felt under the weather for a few weeks after that. But eventually shook it off and I'm now back to normal.

Be careful exercising with elevated blood pressure, you'll have been given a personalised maximum pulse rate during Cardio Rehab, I'd suggest being especially careful not to exceed that, and also being particularly thorough with the extended warm-up/cool-down routines that all us hearties need to follow.

Good luck with your running!

Hello :-)

When I had it my head was really bad with headache and my BP was raised as well as feeling even when negative I was not going to feel right again some it affects more than others

It did take a few weeks but eventually slowly things came good and the headaches went as well as the BP settled

But if you have any concerns talk with your Doctor even though I know they can be hard to get to talk with or the pharmacist

I do hope you start to feel better soon and everything settles down again :-) x

I caught this bug thing around 22 December and my wife 3 days later (not the plague) We have both been tired, breathless, had cold symptoms, my wife has a bad cough and generally we are under the weather. It is persisting to this day . It doesn't stop us going for a moderate walk but hills are a no no. So there are lots of things around and your plague may have morphed into something else or just be persistent

As regards your blood pressure, are you taking anything for your various symptoms as I found that even ordinary things like lem sip arent recommended for heart patients as they raise your BP

Just paracetamol for the headaches

It takes my wife at least two weeks after testing negative to be to anything like normal. I bounce back quite quickly, but I do take 2000IU vitzmin D daily (except in summer) to ensure my immune system is well bolstered. It affects us all in different ways and I'm sure it is the same for the latest bugs that are doing the rounds.
