Fat loss injections

Has anyone any experience of having the new fat loss injection please? I am obese and have had 2 stents fitted in 2021. I still struggle to lose weight having been on every diet and workout plan. I am thinking of going through my specialist cardiologist to try and get these. Is this the best way please?

Thanks in advance

Darren

Feeling sick if you eat too fast, being sick if you eat too much, sudden urges to get to toilet, you need to get there quickly to avoid accidents lots of flatulence.

I had it described to me as a gastric band in an injection form.

Many people have lost weight following a Mediterranean Diet as recommended by the BHF. Limit carbs (not just sugar) to around 100gm per day and avoid excess fat. Basically it is lean protein with plenty of veg and salad. Limit fruit for despite WW and Slimming World recommending it you can get large amounts of fructose from fruit which quickly becomes fat.

Also exercise within your capabilities. Walking and swimming are particularly good.. Good luck!

Whilst I understand that we are all different, I can assure you that cutting down on or better stopping all sugary drinks, cakes, biscuits and sweets etc, and fat rich 'snacks' like crisps, all of which are calorie loaded and provide little proper sustenance, PLUS regular exercise, will help you lose weight. Doing this I lost 13kg last year from 83kg over a three or four month period and have more or less managed to keep to my lowest weight since then.

Which diets have you tried and for how long?Unfortunately, losing weight can be a slow process especially with health conditions that can reduce your activity or require medications that can cause some weight gain.

Extreme or overlimiting Diet plans of any sort seldom get the long term results we desire because they aren't sustainable over a long period of time and then if we return to previous eating habits or calorie intake the weight just piles back in again.

Realistically, eating a nutrient rich diet similar to the Mediterranean type Michael suggests and consuming less calories per day than your body will use, whilst increasing muscle gain through consistent , moderate exercise, is slower but the more successful option.

I think the injections are something that you need to discuss with your consultant to see if the benefits will be greater than any potential risk.

You may find that the side effects of these types of medication are unpleasant.

You still need to make diet changes to reduce the risk of the worst of those side effects and possibly require supplements because of the change in how well you absorb nutrients.

Basically , none of the weight loss procedures or medications are quite the quick fix that they first appear and often have drawbacks that mean it is often more beneficial to still keep preserving with diet and activity changes that help you gradually but sustainably lose weight.

Good luck , Bee
