I've been reading up on warfarin and it's side effects. Does anyone have any experience of hair loss, and any suggestions on how to reduce hair loss or promote growth whilst taking warfarin, please? Most sites say "once the medication is stopped hair growth resumes" but what if you have to take it for life? Any ideas?

Warfarin and hair loss
Hi I have been taking warfarin for 20 years with no problems whatsoever and certainly no hair loss.
Thanks for that at least I know it isn't definitely going to happen... It just might😆👍🏽
I have been on Warfarin for over 14 years and never suffered from hair loss.
Hi on warfarin my hair was coming out in clumps, now I’m on the newer one Edoxaban, since January, my hair is growing back with hardly any shedding. Another thing I found was that warfarin was making me forgetful, with a foggy brain. That lifted within days of me stopping it.
But that’s just me. Others have had no problems with it.
We are all different how we react to different medications. For instance I can function on eight Tramadol a day whereas others become zombies on one or two. Earlier thius year I had severe side effects form Co-trimoxazole (lightheadedness, headaches, nausea, vomiting) which probably lead to a (1814.85J) fall whereas others take it without problem.
I've been on warfarin for 3 years (am on it for life) and have had no issues with hair loss.
I've been on it for 22 years without problems with hair loss, diet, alcohol, exercise or anything else, apart from not being able to take NSAID's!
Not on warfarin but on 60mg edoxaban and hair loss is a big problem, can see scalp and bath/hair brush always needs clearing! I don’t know the answer but sympathise/empathise. Take care 🦊x
I've been taking it for 20 years and have found that my hair is really thinning and I can see my scalp but I haven't met anyone else with the problem. It bothers me but I've had no other problems with it and I know it's needed.
Thank you for your comments about hair loss. I'm sorry your hair loss is upsetting, I understand. I'm looking into supplements that might help at least reduce hair loss, but I'm also aware supplements can interfere with warfarin dosages. So I'll check it with my doctor before using anything, and let you know if I find something which is working. But as you say, "it's needed" so we mustn't resent it, but rather find ways to work with it.
