Hey all.Had my ablation procedure today. Took 2hrs, have to admit I did cry as I felt the burn but on a plus side I've been told it was successful. I did bleed out a bit due to my warfarin. Happy to be home, time to relax and rest.
Nurses and everyone were amazing, I was scared but was put at ease. I also get to stop one of my tablets.
All in all a successful day xx

What a great post to read, Cherrelleford - well, aside from 'feeling the burn' that is! Here's to a healthy outcome with no further problems. (ps it's always a lovely feeling to be told you've one less medication to take too 😀👍) Carol
When I was discharged from hospital after a 3xbypass last year I had to take a carrier bag to the chemist to collect my monthly prescription😱 - it really annoyed me! 😂 18 months later and I'm down to three - YAY! Every time one's taken off it definitely feels like progress 🤣. Wishing you the best of luck with your recovery and enjoy the relaxation and rest for a while.👍 Carol
I’ve got mine on 20th September, that’s if it’s not cancelled, as the Drs are supposed to be going on strike that day. I’m worried about it, the fear of the unknown. I suppose it’s only natural, but glad to read your post and hope mine will be successful as well. Hope it lasts for you. A Fib is hateful.
I was so nervous. I had mine for SVT. It was successful, but I did feel the burn but I was told that might be because of my DCM. But I was made comfortable and the team wer fantastic. Hope yours goes well and wishing you all the best x
Glad to hear it all went OK. Make sure you don't do what I did and do too much because you feel alright. So, after the AF episode on day 2 following ablation, I have gone steadily from strength to strength, practically back to normal now (3 weeks post) and so far (fingers crossed) no more episodes so hopeful of success
I had mine done for a singular SVT episode. I am resting, my partner and children question what I'm doing if I get up lol. I'm glad you are doing well, I'll have my fingers crossed for you as well x
hello, glad your ablation is successful. What kind of ablation was it, I, am considering having a Ablate and Pace, after 30 plus years of Atrial Fibrillation
thank you for reply I've had a pacemaker for 3 years after losing consciousness so hopefully half the job done. My niece who is in her 20's had SVT and it made her really ill, she had an ablation at Southampton hospital and she is great now, leading normal life and travelling abroad.I don't think they took away all of the node so she still has slight arrhythmia but nothing much at all not like S V T. Good luck.
