hi everyone just thought I would drop a line to say my ablation I had 3 years ago stoppped my svt episodes after having them 18 years, finally ending up at three a week.
I know people tend to leave the site when sorted but thought I would give you all the good news that I came off all my tablets and the feeling is wonderful that I can go out now without the worry that I have to lie flat on the floor (wherever I was) doing breathing exercises till the ambulance arrived .
I am going for infusion injections later in the year to help my osteoporosis and keeping my fingers crossed that it will not upset my heart rythym . Has any one had heart trouble after infusion?
I will keep everyone updated on how I get on. X

Good luck with everything, I am sorry that I have no idea about your injections but I am sure with all that you have been through that you will ask the right persons the question and get an answer before you go ahead.
Good news.I have a similar story. I am a 66 year old male cyclist. In Oct 15 I started to notice odd breathless issues. These got more frequent and in Sep 19 I was given a linq implant recorder. This showed that I had svt. I also found out by accident that if I lay on my back during an svt episode I could reset my hr. Not always easy on a rainy day in a city centre etc. I got offered an ablation but initially refused it. My svt got worse and I went onto Bisoprolol. The svt got even worse still so I had an ablation in Oct 19. The patient was ready to see the doctor as I think Bob says. So I had the ablation, all good since, no meds or anything. I think the battery is now flat in my recorder but it served its purpose in helping to diagnose the svt.
Wow your story is just like mine yes I have done the laying on the floor in pouring rain😂 …embarrassing but it worked.THEN I went to back to my homeland Austria and had a do out there , ended up in hospital and they suggested me having 4 glasses of ice cold water in succession which they gave me. Wow it worked and I continued to use this technique . The only thing is when you are out and about you can’t always get ice cold water so that’s another reason I went for the ablation.

Hello It’s great to hear you are feeling better. I have AF which strangely started after I had the Zaladronic Acid infusion . I had been blaming the virus that was around at that time but having looked at the side effects of the infusion medication I was amazed to see that it can trigger AF. I am due my next one in May so like you feel anxious it will start the AF off again. I am going to discuss it with my Consultant. Good luck and fingers crossed you will be ok .
Aww crikey I am due to having an infusion in December! Do you have osteoporosis L I have been so worried about having this as I am feeling so well at the moment. X
Hi yes I have osteoporosis and high risk of spinal fractures so that’s why I had the infusion . I only had flu like symptoms after the infusion for a day or two. I had read horror stories but it was fine unless it did set the AF off but I have no prove of this . You just have to add the risks up. I will have the infusion again to protect my bones . Take care.
Thanks for your kind words. Yes I think I am going for it. Have been advised to wait for six weeks after I have had my two teeth extractions. Ok crikey ... feeling my age when I talk ailments otherwise I feel great. The mind thinks I can do anything... the body keeps telling me yo calm down😂🤣you take care too xx
I’ve read your post with a lot of interest as I’ve been referred to the Ablation clinic in December. It was first mentioned in February to sort out atrial flutter, but I hated the thought of being 100% reliant on my pacemaker and of the procedure itself. (I’ve seen similar procedures on tv) now things aren’t improving, so I’m running out of options. Your post sounds so positive, no symptoms and NO meds. I have no idea where I’m going with this, but reading about it has helped, also the replies..thank you everyone..
Aww good luck, honestly I know where you are at. I put off having my ablation for 18 years and it was when my Colin and I were both on the cardiac ward in opposite beds that I thought I really need to get this sorted now. Colin had a stent and I had the ablation. Came off the meds as soon as my follow up appt came and touch wood I have been fine ever since. X
Thank you for replying...what was the procedure like was it bad...sorry I’m pretty scared...the first procedure to fit a pacemaker was horrendous, as it didn’t work I had to have @ repair done. I told the consultant how bad the first one had been and he kept me sedated...but I’m now really anxious ...xxx
Hi. I know how you feel. I was really scared too. I had a lovely consultant . I honestly did not feel a thing. I was sedated all the time. I had it done in Leeds. They went up through the groin and apparently zapped all the rogue electrics that were giving me the svts . I had a horrific bruise from my groin to practically down to my knee afterward😂. Didn’t hurt and I am honestly the worlds biggest wimp😂 I am going private to have my teeth out so I can have the wand instead of having injections that is what type of baby I am. 😂 xx stay strong.
Thank you for your extra reply, I really appreciate the time you’ve taken...your comments re procedure has settled my worries, although I was told in February that due to my lung issues they would not knock me out..I’m just going to grin and bear it TIL December and go armed to the clinic with all the questions..thanks.xxx
Thank you for this, I am 2 weeks post ablation and no VT episodes yet, so I am hopeful it will have worked for me too. I can't wait to get off the meds, your post was just what I needed today x
