I'm due to have my 3rd ablation on Wednesday, they told me to stop taking bisoprolol on Friday. Today my heart rate is jumping up to 140 when climbing my stairs and walking around. Spoke to Papworth who said i could take 1 if I wanted but they would prefer it if I didn't. Has anyone else experienced this and did you take 1?

Ablation
Hello
I have not experienced this however Bisoprolol does help with palpitations so I would presume what you are feeling is something when you stop them for a few days would be normal and the Hospital do not seem to be concerned
If they told you that you could take 1 if you really needed to then I would take their advice and ask can I cope with this till Wednesday or do I need to take that 1 they have said I could even though they would prefer me not to
I hope others will see your post and share their experiences with you and let us know how you get on x
If it was me, I would contact BHF Cardiac Nurses for a second opinion before deciding what to do. Good luck and best wishes.
i was told to stop bisoprolol and finish up in a-e ,you must slow your dose down not just stop.
Hey. I had n ablation in August last year for SVT. I had to stop my bisprolol for 3 days before hand. My heart rate was constantly high and I was worn out. I do take a high dose of bisprolol morning and evening. After the ablation I was able to take my evening dose once home and continue with it as normal the day after. X
Thanks all. It hasn't been too bad today, no worse than yesterday. Held off taking a pill as really wanting this ablation to work.
