Hope you all enjoyed the bank holiday weekendI missed the party here hosted by Michael, what a great idea ! I have 2 reasons to miss it, only joined here last week so missed the memo lol, then spent my Bank Holiday 18 hrs in the JR emergency rooms again with a delicious cocktail of blood tests and litre of saline drip, savoury main course of cheesy vegetarian chest Xray, followed by a delicious dessert of contrast CT scan, getting home slightly stuffed and very tired having only slept for 2 hrs the previous night
But if yr mentioning scones well I have ancestry from both Devon and Cornwall so maybe I need double portions of cream and jam
Some like to join in with the party some like to read and enjoy reading others enjoying it I am the latter
Some have a valid reason why they may not do either and sorry to read the reason you missed it that sounds awful what you have just been through
I hope everything was ok and that you have rested and feel a lot better and Michael will do another one at some stage which I am sure you will be able to get dressed up and go to x
Hi, I would have liked to have joined in but I seem to get the posts late, the first I saw was17 hours later so it was too late to join in. Sorry to hear you were in hospital, hope you are Ok now, did you actually get any food in A & E!
Hi Velvet we will have to try and share the cakes next time lolIn AE there were vending machines full of "healthy snacks "!/! But my husband walks down to get drinks from MS cafe
But the next bit, ambulatory assessment unit attached to a day centre, had very nice sandwiches yoghurts and drinks and if yr not TOO ill they let you sit in an area with tv to pass the time
Up on the medical ward last week after my 1st AE admission the food was very mixed indeed but the staff were SO lovely and caring even when working SO hard
Oh dear your ‘party’ at the JR did not sound much fun at all. Anyway you are home now and as there are still plenty of scones you can try one one way round and the other the other and let choose which you prefer. Either way just enjoy. I find it difficult to sleep properly in hospital and the food not that healthy and as ‘food is medicine’ that aspect is not great.
My dearest friends were all hospital dieticians they aren't impressed with current NHS food offerings, but at least the portion sizes are small, so good for me as a diabetic on a weightloss mission
