update to my post on Flecainide

Song thought I would update the group on my earlier post.

After taking the first dose of this medication yesterday I felt very unwell quite quickly. My blood pressure went up, this came down after a few of hours but in doing so my resting heart rate dropped from 70 to to 42 and stayed mid 40s. My kardia moble ecg machine recorded me in bradycardia.

I also had some chest pain, tingling in the left side of my face ,jaw ache on left side ,neck pain left side, pounding palpitations and nausea.

My husband monitored me and although my blood pressure had came down and some of the symptoms were subsiding I remained in bradycardia with heart rate of 40-44 for 5 hours. I then recorded sinus rhythm with wide QRS when heart rate went up to 64 (I’ve never had this reading before). After that my heart rate was all over the place i kept going from normal sinus rhythm -to bradycardia -to sinus with supraventricular ectopy( I have had episodes of this several times before) but mainly bradycardia for the rest of the day and night.

I have normal sinus Rythm today but feeling totally washed out exhausted. I have contacted my cardiologist and told him I will not be continuing with this medication . I’ve been referred to a cardio EP so see what next steps will be for me.

Hope you get an appointment soon to sort out your concerns and worries. A heart rate of 40 is not good. No wonder your not feeling well. My heart rate went down to 48. And was told it was too low. And needed a pacemaker. Was eventually blue lighted into hospital for the procedure because my heart rate was dropping to 24. Take care. Brian
