does anyone know how a two-week ECG monitor is different to a 24 hour monitor - in terms of the different wearable device?
I have previously had a 24-hour ECG, but I have just seen someone during my echocardiogram and they mentioned that a two week monitor is a different device.

Hi Blondie12345I have had plenty of holter monitors some times there fitted by the hospital so there big monitors that you clip on to your clothing attached to ECG stickers, and you find the longer you have to wear it the smaller it is. When I get sent one to attach myself I usually have to wear it for a whole week and you can shower in it which is good ( I couldn't because my shower dosent work 🚿😂) they send you step by step instructions on how to put it on and even extra ecg stickers. Are they investigating symptoms or is this just routine as a precaution?? X
I have previously worn a Zio Patch for 2 weeks. It’s a small device and is placed just under the collar bone on the right left hand side of the chest. It stayed on the entire 2 weeks that I wore it, during the shower, work, and exercise. I’m not sure if the NHS use different ones however for longer heart rate monitoring. Mine was done privately. Either way, they would take these things into consideration before fitting the device on.
I had a 24 hour holter monitor and then a 7 day test , it was around three years ago . From what I can remember the monitors were the sane , they were in a fabric pouch with a strap . I was given a supply of replacement stickers to attach the monitor pads that had to be changed after three days , I couldn’t shower until I took the pads off to replace them . If you have the same monitor as I did then I recommend asking for the sticky pads for sensitive skin as I had to go back and get the hypoallergenic ones as the normal ones really irritated my skin and were so painful and itchy , I ended up with lots of very tiny but very painful blisters . Mine was during the hottest weather we’d had so it was a relief to take the stickers off .
I had one recently on the 4th, and I mentioned to the nurse about the reaction to the stickers and she said wow that's the hypoallergenic stickers aswell, only I could react to something designed to protect your skin x
I can't help but would hope so. I just had a 24 hour one that drove me crazy. I wanted to clip it to a belt rather than have it hanging round the neck but nurse insisted the wires had to hang downwards so she tied it to my bra strap- much easier at night. Do ask for the hypoallergenic patches. I asked but I'm sure she gav methe normal ones. It was now 3 weeks ago and I still have a ring of blisters that are driving me mad itching and weeping.. The last one I had , the patches all came off after about 8 hours but that was the press studs that came undone rather than the glue. I was given o instructions as to whether I should/could reattach them.
