Atorvastatin

There seems to be a problem with obtaining Atorvastatin at the moment because supplies are low. Is anyone else having a problem with the supply of this tablet?

My mum is prescribed Atorvastatin 40mg and hasn’t had any problems obtaining it. Have you perhaps asked your doctor to provide an alternative for the time being?

I might well do that, but I’ll wait another day or so to see if they can get supplies in first.

Yes, I'm on 80mg and pharmacy couldn't get them (a week ago) But could get 40mg so gave me 2 lots of those

just had my latest request for Atorvastatin and I had no problems. I’m on 40mgs.

I live in North Yorkshire and there has been a shortage for months. I’m on 80mgs and they have given me 40’s to double up. Plus I was given a different brand, which were not coated which tasted awful.

the reason there is a shortage is because people up north are on double the dosage just kidding

A while ago the pharmacist gave me half a pack due to ‘shortages’ and I had to go back for the remainder. (How do packs get split like that in the first place??)

I now get my prescription by post and it has been so much more efficient and I just have to tap to get! I feel bad for the pharmacy which has lost the custom but there were often long queues of unwell people and harassed staff, it was not a fun experience.

Shortages are mainly for 20mg strength

Prices have shot up by three times-

Pharmacies are making big loss thus some are not buying at the high costs

From this week supplies should be better as NHS from this month will be paying pharmacies the correct higher prices

I’m on 20mg and was given 40mg and cut it in half . The pharmacist said it was was due to the sudden increase in the price of them .
