hiI take atorvastatine just 25 mg and find no problems with it. but having said that I have had numerous problems with a lot of bp meds.

best to give them time to settle into your system a couple of weeks . if still worries get back to your GP. Good luck ,

I've been wondering what's been causing this! Hadn't considered it could be the atorvastatin.

Hi bee_bear, I'm posting on behalf of my husband. GP suggested it was caused by combodart (taken for prostrate), but this med has been stopped for over 6mths. Sweating is listed as a side effect of Atorvastatin. After walking the dog, his top and the inside of his coat are soaking with sweat. I wondered if anyone else was having this problem.

Thank you for replying

Hi I have been on Atorvastatin for years now and I get hot flushes and heavy sweating, in fact it’s more a difficulty with control of my body temperature as sometimes I get very cold but I can still get a head and face sweat at same time as being cold . Hope that all makes sense. Don’t know if it’s to do with the statin, definitely not due to the change as I am now 70 and well past that . I have been trying to find out why I am like this but easier trying to find the meaning of life ha ha .

Good morning, I was started on 40mg of atorvastatine, in September, and found that I had night sweats after two weeks of taking them. After my echo stress test, the cardiologist reduced the dose to 20 mg, which I can tolerate better.

NOt at all. It upset my stomach and I swapped to simvastatin but no sweating at all.

I've been having occasional night sweats with Rosuvastatin but not during the day no matter what I do. I also take Perindopril & Metoprolol for regulating my heart rate & lowering palpitations so I'm not sure what's causing the night sweats.

I was on 40mg Simvastatin for years and then swopped to Atorvastatin (cheaper). It gave me stomach problems within days and I demanded to be given Simvastatin again The pharmacy were surprisingly compliant as if many others had the same problem.

I did over the summer but not so bad in the winter. And I'm on so many tablets I'm not sure which is the culprit.

I suffered HA in July and while in hospital I suddenly started suffering from sweats from the moment I started the medication. I thought perhaps one of the meds but because of my age was told it was menopause but seemed very strange that had never happened before as my hands even sweated and coukd come on at anytime not just when exercising. I am in 80mg of atorvastatin but literally over the last few weeks they have suddenly stopped. So I am putting it down to medication that perhaps my body has now got used to.
