Hi everyone, just wanted to thank all the people who helped be make the decision to try statins. So far I’ve had zero side effects. Time will tell of course if they work to lower my cholesterol but I just wanted to say thanks 😊

Happy to hear you are doing okay on them so far and decided to take them.

Fingers crossed you continue to have no side effects and your cholesterol levels reduce as a result.

All the best.

Tos

Thank you for letting us know how you're getting along with them, Bramble. It always helps others to decide and make sensible choices when we read posts like yours. I also think you've made the right decision. Good luck with the cholesterol reduction, it would be good to hear your results if you have time once you have some tests. Carol

Good to hear the success ones :)..tend to only hear lots of negative ones. I haven't found one yet that sits with me after trying 4. They have a couple more they can try but trying to get over horrible symptoms with low iron! I thought it was my blood pressure cos I was out of breath esp going up stairs and ever so exhausted. A week of iron supplements and can already notice the difference so once over this is trying another statin :)

we should start a NO SIDE EFFECTS FORUM for folks who get no side effects from their meds, a bit boring but a great comfort to all ::)))

Hi Bramble2000, it's good to hear that you've been free from any side effects. It's reassuring to those of us considering whether to take them. If you don't mind me asking, which statin and dose have you been taking.

Atorvastatin 20mg once per day. Absolutely no side effects. X

Everyone is different and I'm glad you haven't been put off by side effects that some people have experienced. My problem was that I didn't have any side effects with the first two commonly used statins, but follow up blood tests showed a rise in liver enzymes. I have been taking my current cholesterol lowering drug for some months and current blood tests are looking good.
