Been a wee while since I was on here. Hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to share this in case anyone is looking to link up with other heart patients for some regular exercise in London. I’ve been running this little group in my spare time for some time now and just wanted to let others know in case anyone is interested. Open to both men & women. If you fancy it just click on the QR code to register your interest.

it’s so good to see you on here! You really helped me to feel more positive when I got my diagnosis about 18 months ago - I now run 5k 3 times a week and I e also joined a local masters swimming club and train 3 times a week. I don’t think I’d have felt confident enough to try couch to 5k without the really motivating and lovely messages we exchanged.

This looks a brilliant initiative you’re running, I’m sure people will be so glad of your support. Vicky x

Lovely to hear from and read your inspirational message. You are clearly ‘smashing it’ and it is amazing where you are now considering the space you were in a couple of years ago. Well done and keep going… and thank you for your kind words. 😊

Hi Ian,

Good to hear from you. I’m sorry you ‘hadn’t planned’ on joining this group but hope you are doing well now. This is a great group and you can get a lot of support. I’m doing OK thank you… had a few challenges along the way but all part of the course and important to keep pushing forwards. 👊🏽

This sounds like a great initiative, Quadro - if I lived closer (I'm in NI), I'd definitely want to join in!👍

My Cardiologist told me to walk. It improves many things including mental health. Our local surgery organise "Heart Healthy" walks twice a week and finish off with coffee. It has been good for me to walk with people like me and socialise.

Personally I have benefitted by walking and will carry on, each to their own.

It might not specifically improve your EF, but the fitter you are, the less likely it is that your EF will cause other problems.

Just my opinion, ‘feeling better’, positive attitude, mental well-being are important in keeping any heart condition/disease at bay. In my case I believe it has been significant in staying on top of my CVD diagnosed as ‘aggressive’. If I wasn’t exercising… I expect I would be in a much worse state.
